Madolyn Fallis Excellence Award

Madolyn Douglas Fallis
March 30, 1934 - January 20, 2019
Madolyn Fallis was a well-known and respected organist and accompanist in San Antonio. A patroness member of the San Antonio Alumnae Chapter since its inception, she was a force of nature. With her effervescent personality, her boundless energy, and her smile as big as all of Texas, she endeared herself to everyone she met. Not only was she a devoted member of the alumnae chapter and a respected church musician, choral director, teacher, and recitalist, she was a class act in every sense of the word. Her professionalism and respect for each individual person set her apart from the norm. Always ready with a word of support or encouragement, she inspired those of us who had the privilege to know and work with her to strive for excellence. In 1996 she was initiated by Theta Gamma as a Patroness Member and, once the San Antonio Alumnae Chapter was chartered, she was an active and enthusiastic member. As a Patroness, Madolyn took great pleasure in becoming acquainted with young women who were preparing for music careers. She once said, “My professional career as an organist has been filled with rich personal and musical experiences. I strive to encourage talented students in this exciting career”. It is in that spirit that the San Antonio Alumnae Chapter is proud to award an outstanding graduate from the Theta Gamma chapter the Madolyn Fallis Excellence Award.
